They had to numb her chin before they could clean the wound or put the stitches in it. The numbing medicine was on a cotton ball and they taped it to her chin. It had to stay on about 20 mins.

Mallory's BooBoo
About two weeks ago, Mallory and Mason were playing in the living room. They had taken the cushions off of the couch and placed them as a bridge from the sofa to the coffee table. They were playing like it was a fort. They decided it was a good idea to climb on top of the fort and play. It didn't work out so well for Mallory. I heard her scream real loud and I went to see what happened. Calmly, she walked into the kitchen with her hand on her chin. She wasn't crying then and the first thing out her mouth was, "Mason didn't push me". When she moved her hand, I could clearly see that she had cut her chin pretty bad and we were going to have to make a trip to the ER. As I'm explaining to her about the trip to the doctor, Mason comes in and says "Will she have to have stitches?" This just sent her right over the edge. She hadn't cried a tear until he uttered those words. I couldn't help but laugh. When I asked her if she even knew what stitches were, she said no. When I asked her why she would be scared, she says "I've seen it on TV". I hadn't had a bath that day and we were all still in our PJs. So I had to get a bath and change everyone's clothes before we could go. It gave mom time to get to Covington and meet me at the hospital. I just knew Mason would be more than I could have handled in the ER. He would have been telling the doctor how to put the stitches in her face.
They had to numb her chin before they could clean the wound or put the stitches in it. The numbing medicine was on a cotton ball and they taped it to her chin. It had to stay on about 20 mins.
They taped a cotton ball on my chin too, so I could show her how to act big. It didn't really help matters. She was still mad at them.
This was our nurse, Glenda. She had the unpleasant job of holding Mallory's head still while the doctor sowed her up. Mallory was SCREAMING the whole time. I know she was ready to get us out of there quickly!
After the final stitch. There was a total of 4 stitches and they healed up nicely. BTW - the blue is eyeshadow from earlier in the morning. She only hit her chin, not her whole face!
